You've flown alone long enough.
Eight years ago, a handful of pilots built the org they couldn't find. Today, 750 Vanguardians fly together — daily ops, structured training, and a rule that never bends: your real life comes first.
About Vanguard
What eight years looks like.
Most Star Citizen orgs look impressive on the recruitment page. Hundreds of members, a sharp logo, a promise that ops run nightly. Then you join and the Discord is quiet. Vanguard started in 2018 because a handful of pilots were done pretending that was good enough.
Today: daily operations across five Wings. Last quarter alone — Idris boarding exercises, multi-fleet capital engagements, a two-month org-wide campaign that earned a Polaris, and dozens of training ops you won't hear about because they just happen.
Some weeks that's forty pilots assaulting a contested station. Other weeks it's four friends hauling cargo and talking nonsense on comms. You'll know which one is happening because either way, someone will invite you.
Built different. On purpose.
No attendance requirements. No guilt trips. Miss a week, miss a month — nobody sends you a passive-aggressive DM. The org runs daily regardless, and when you come back, your rank, your Wing, and your crew are exactly where you left them.
Five Wings. Dozens of specialized Units. Fleet tracking, training pipelines, certifications — all custom-built because nothing off the shelf could coordinate 750 people across time zones. When you log in, ops are already running. You pick one and fly.
Wings are about passion, not restriction. A Security pilot who wants to mine can mine. A Science pilot who wants to dogfight gets in the cockpit. Certifications apply during org ops only — how you spend your own time is your business.
Basic flight certs through capital ship boarding doctrine. The War College runs structured programs with real assessments — not a video playlist you click through and forget. When you fly a coordinated op, the pilot on your wing earned their seat the same way you did.
Non-exclusive. Fly with other groups — some rank restrictions apply, but the community is open. Most affiliates end up making us their primary within a few months. Not because we ask. Because they stop wanting to log in anywhere else.
Find your Wing.

Fighter pilots, capital ship crews, ground forces, bounty hunters. When forty Vanguardians drop into a contested zone, Security goes in first and leaves last.

Miners, salvagers, fuel operators. Every ship in the fleet flies on what Industries pulls out of the rocks — and every op that runs long enough needs them.

Transport, trade, settlement ops. Frontier moves what needs moving, builds what needs building, and turns a profit doing it. Every new foothold in the verse starts with them.

Explorers, researchers, data runners. Science maps what's uncharted, studies what's unknown, and tells the rest of the org whether to approach it or avoid it.

The strategic center. Command sets organizational direction, coordinates cross-Wing operations, and handles the planning that keeps hundreds of members moving toward the same objective.
It's through our members' efforts that this organization shines bright as the best community to be in. I'm proud to see so many Vanguardians getting into the verse and sharing their passion for what we've built together.

See you in the verse.
Five minutes to apply. Discord, a mic, and the willingness to fly with people who take the game seriously without taking themselves too seriously. Your crew is already running ops tonight.
